Basic & Advanced Obedience Dog Training
Your dog listens at home… but not outside.
Walks feel frustrating. Commands get ignored. Everything falls apart around distractions.
This is exactly what basic obedience dog training is meant to fix.
At Pup’s & Paws Dog Training, we focus on real-life results — not just commands in a quiet room. Your dog learns to listen around distractions, outside, and in everyday situations.

Why Your Dog Isn’t Listening
Most dogs aren’t “stubborn.”
They simply haven’t been taught how to listen in real-life situations.
Training often happens inside the house…
But real life happens outside — with distractions, movement, people, and noise.
If your dog only listens in calm environments, they haven’t truly learned the behavior yet.
That’s where structured obedience training changes everything.
What Will My Dog Learn?
Obedience training is not just about teaching commands.
It is about building reliable listening, better focus, calm behavior, and clear communication between you and your dog.
We work on the skills that matter most in everyday life, so your dog can listen at home, on walks, around guests, and in distracting public places.

Dog Obedience Training FAQ
How long are training sessions?
Each training session is about 1 hour long, focused on real progress without overwhelming your dog.
Where does training take place?
Training starts in your home where behavior happens. Depending on your goals, we also train in local parks, dog-friendly stores, and busy areas near you to build real-life reliability.
Do you come to my home?
Yes. All sessions are done in your environment so your dog learns where it actually matters.
What dogs do you train?
We train all dogs — small, large, young, and old. Every dog is evaluated individually and trained based on their needs.
Can older dogs still learn?
Yes. Training can start as early as 8 weeks old, and age does not limit learning. The oldest dog we have trained was 16 years old and still learned very well.
What if I have multiple dogs?
No problem. We evaluate all dogs together in the first session and guide you on the best training plan. In most cases, dogs learn faster individually first, then we bring them together. It depends on your goals for each dog.
What if I only want to train one dog?
Other dogs in the home will need to be separated during sessions so we can focus and create clear results.
Does my dog need to be vaccinated?
Dogs should be up to date on vaccinations appropriate for their age and lifestyle.
Do you train aggressive dogs?
We do not take on bite cases or dogs that pose a clear safety risk. If you’re unsure, contact us and we can guide you in the right direction.
Will I be involved in the training?
Yes. You will learn exactly how to handle and communicate with your dog so the results carry over into everyday life.
How quickly will I see results?
Many clients notice improvement within the first few sessions when training is applied consistently.
What areas do you serve?
We serve Suwanee, Buford, Alpharetta, Johns Creek, Duluth, Lawrenceville, Sugar Hill, and surrounding Gwinnett County areas.
